A catch-all mailbox is one that collects all the email messages sent to invalid addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but somebody mistypes it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Only one mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and in this way you’ll never miss emails because the other party has an outdated address or has made a spelling error. The disadvantage of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving a lot of spam, but this problem can be rectified using an anti-spam protection solution. It’s also important to bear in mind that a mailbox with an active catch-all functionality cannot redirect inbound email messages to a third-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Hosting
In case you’ve got a Linux hosting package with us and you want to enable the catch-all option for a certain email mailbox that you have in your account, it will take literally just a single click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to achieve this. A catch-all button is available next to each and every email address that you have set up under any domain registered in your account. You can pick one email address per domain by clicking the respective button. This will enable the feature immediately, so all email messages sent to miswritten email addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking on the button once again will deactivate the catch-all feature. In case you’ve got activated email forwarding, our system will display a cautionary note and you won’t be able to activate the catch-all feature until you disable the forwarding or you can simply choose a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting
The catch-all functionality can be enabled effortlessly in case you have a semi-dedicated server plan with us. All the email addresses that you have created using the domains hosted in your semi-dedicated account will be displayed in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel and you’ll notice a mini icon conveniently located directly next to each of them. With only a single click, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your choice as long as there isn't another mailbox under that same domain with this option already enabled and there isn't activated email forwarding. Alternatively, you can right-click on an email address and enable the feature through the context menu that will show up. In case any of the conditions for creating a catch-all mailbox is not met, our system will inform you, but will not disable or replace anything automatically.
