Using out-of-date apps or templates and plug-ins for them, or using very simple passwords is always a risk for your Internet sites as these things make it much easier to hack them. This will get worse when you have a few different websites since all of them will be in danger when an attacker takes over just one of them. For this reason we've introduced JailHost - an advanced security feature that isolates websites from each other. In case a site gets compromised, the attacker will be unable to find or access any other content outside the site folder, so all other websites in the account will be protected and will remain intact. The JailHost option doesn't replace doing regular script updates or using difficult passwords, but it will minimize any damage to your websites significantly, so you'll need to fix only one site rather than all of them.
JailHost in Hosting
In case you host your websites inside a hosting account from our company, you will be able to protect them using the JailHost feature with just a few mouse clicks within your Hepsia Control Panel. This feature is available with all packages and can be enabled for each folder as the domains and subdomains in Hepsia have individual folders, so files for many different websites do not get mixed up as it often happens with other Control Panels. We haven't activated JailHost by default as you may use scripts that require access to folders outside the main website folder and this option could interfere with their correct functioning, but protecting all the other folders is really easy. In case any secured website gets hacked for whatever reason, we will be able to recover it easily as we'll have multiple daily backup copies of your entire account and you will even be able to search the available backups using Hepsia.
JailHost in Semi-dedicated Hosting
In case you have a semi-dedicated hosting account, you will be able to activate JailHost with a few clicks from your Hepsia Control Panel because we've included this option in all of our semi-dedicated plans. It is not activated by default because you may use an application that needs access to other folders inside the account and JailHost might cause problems, however you can easily secure all other websites by isolating them from one another. This will be super easy as in Hepsia all domains and subdomains have separate folders. In contrast, many other Control Panels keep the content of multiple sites in subfolders under a primary domain, so one hacked Internet site there will mean that all of them will be hacked. With Hepsia, only one website could possibly get damaged and even if this happens, we can quickly bring it back thanks to the multiple daily backups that we will keep, which means that you can go ahead and update it afterwards in order to protect it from future intrusions.
